Dear Diary - Jamish, how do you feel?

Daniel Moreno March 29, 2019

James Ellison, Jamish to his closest friends, spent his youth as a professional gamer and has transitioned to game design earning renown as a giant in that field. Best friends of Diego Belfort. Two journal entries with his name on them were found.

Journal Entry, Wednesday, September 13, 2017 Jamish Ellison

I think I might be coming down with something. At around 8 this morning I felt uneasy. My stomach was queasy. It only lasted a moment, but, it happened a few times throughout the day. It's not dread. I'm not afraid of anything happening. It's like this morning, I was awakened to something and I am having a physiological reaction to it. Now if that isn't some fantasy novel bull shit, I don't know what is.

I don't remember ever experiencing illness in this way before. It's usually a slow onset, but you know how that goes. Sniffles start, maybe a scratchiness in the throat, there's some coughing, then the aches come, congestion. This was full symptom for a moment, and just a moment, and then it was gone. Then it came back and lasted as long as it initially did. It's sporadic, but it's fully intense every time it happens.

I am frustrated because it affected my work. I need to remain focused on my job, and this was a distraction throughout the day. I've been working on this patching issue at work for a week now and we have a pretty tight deadline. If they would just agree to let this project be crowd funded, we might have some wiggle room, but they want to do it all themselves with no outside help. We are all working so hard. We will get it done though.

Usually, I am able to succinctly incorporate musical mathematics to my programming, but this project feels different. I can't hear the song behind it. It is super linear, so it should be pretty easy to see the pattern and plot it out. Not this time. There really isn't too much to get hung up on, I feel like it might be one or two lines of code that are keeping me back from seeing the bigger picture. I suppose if I hadn't agreed to work on segmented parts at a time I might be able to see more of what's what. I don't even really feel comfortable projecting or forecasting.

I talked to my parents this morning. They called me out of the blue to tell me how much they loved me. They poured it on really thick as well. I think they finally got rid of my old room. My dad kept saying how he wants to create a studio in the house and my mom kept saying how perfect my room was for that as it's the only room above the garage, so it would be easy to sound proof. Good for him. It's all a bunch of sentimental things anyway, and this gives me a reason to stay in a hotel when I go visit them instead of staying with them. I might need to rent a car though. That would be annoying. They didn't let on why they called, though, so I could be completely wrong. I'm going to let it simmer though. I wont bring it up, I will wait for them to.

They can be so silly sometimes though. They sent me a thank you card the last time I went to visit them. I wrote about this in a previous journal entry, so I wont go into it further. This is another instance of them being a bit clingy. Maybe one of them is sick? I wonder, if that was the case, why wouldn't they just tell me? If one is sick, they might have to sell the house. That would be sad. I love that house. I have been holding out hope I might buy it from them eventually.

I am considering buying a 4k TV. Let's do a pros and cons list.

Pros: Stunning picture, reasonably affordable, currently future proof, enhanced gaming, new life to at home movie watching

Cons: Currently don't have a 4k streaming service, to benefit while gaming I would need to get a more current version of my Xbox, very little current programming that benefits from 4k, high cost to fully upgrade to 4k experience.

Do the pros outweigh the cons or is it vice versa? I currently have a 42 inch plasma TV. It is currently mounted on a bracket that is outfitted for up to a 65 inch TV, which is nice. I guess I could add that to the pros, but it's irrelevant, I could just get a new mounting bracket with the TV and return the current one to the warehouse store where I bought it. They have a great return policy. I just don't know. I am glad I wrote this out though. It gives me something to reference.

:UPDATE:

I felt it again. Coincidentally, Diego just came home. Maybe I am allergic to his comings and goings. I just laughed to myself. I will go to the pharmacy tomorrow and pick up some preventative medicine, just in case I am in an early enough stage to stave off some of the effects of whatever this illness is that is creeping its way up. I'm sure I will be OK.

:Second Update:

Diego just came in and gave me some soup and a couple of those sourdough rolls from his job. How did he know? I love that guy. Like, I really really do. Maybe I should send him a thank you card.
